In 146 BC, Rome conquers Greece militarily, but the victory is deceptive. Between 146 and 63 BC, Greece conquers Rome philosophically—without armies, borders, or force. Greek thought becomes the unseen authority shaping culture, law, education, and meaning.

In 63 BC, Pompey the Great enters Jerusalem and brings Judea under Roman control. Rome now governs territory, taxation, administration, and military order—but it does not control the worldview.
